While I think I fall in love with many different parts of the farmhouse's design, I keep dreaming about that coffee bar area. Well, the coffee-bar-butler-pantry-second-kitchen thingy. Allow me to show you...
As you can see above, there is an open walkway from the kitchen area to the coffee bar. Therefore, my brain tells me "MAKE THIS LOOK AWESOME!" And so it begins.
Right now that area is only shown as a foot deep, which may need to be a bit deeper but likely can't go to a full two feet deep.
So, while I am not personally a coffee drinker, I have a cute ginger husband who does drink gallons of it a day. And I would love to have the coffee pot, drips, and other items off the kitchen counters. Thus, the coffee bar. First, let's talk about INSPIRATION! Here is what I would love my coffee bar to look like....dream....
First, can I say how much I am looking forward to having a window in my pantry? I'm not saying that the above picture was the inspiration, but I'm also not-NOT saying that.
I love so much about this setup. I mean, the baskets, copper mule cups, coffee cup tower...
While I have been struggling to find a good spot in the kitchen for open shelving, which I do love (but secretly concerned that my cleaning/organization habits may not jive with the style), I saw the above picture and realized that I could still have this cool look...in the pantry! I love the idea of the wood shelves, the white counter, and the back splash.
I never really considered a wood countertop in the kitchen area...it seemed like a lot of work and not super sanitary. And frankly, I have been lusting after white or marble-ish countertops for a while. But then, I saw this...
After taking a minute to recover from my audible gasp and lack of oxygen, I decided that this type of option may be a cool accent for the butler's pantry....with the coffee bar.
So maybe the coffee bar could feature our coffee pot and a couple modern farmhouse items like:
This looking for that perfect funny coffee sign...the hunt continues!
